Quality Assurance in the Monitoring and Control of Institutional Strengthening Projects at the Universidad de La Frontera

Abstract

The transformation and challenges of higher education systems require universities to become modern and flexible, with installed quality and planification systems that guarantee an effective integration between their day-to-day operations and their projects, in order to properly manage their resources and gained benefits.

This work aims to provide documented processes for the regulation of the monitoring and control of institutional projects for strengthening universities, in order to assure their quality. First, a standard literature review of project management standards was made, followed by a revision of the university´s management system in place; finally, information was gathered and analyzed, and recommendations to improve project performances were drawn. Prioritized processes were documented under the Project Management Institute´s standards.
