Call for Papers: TruGen25 Workshop @ AIME 25
TruGen25: Developing Trustworthy GenAI Virtual Assistants for Improved Healthcare Outcomes: A Human-Centered Explainable AI Perspective
Workshop at the AIME 25 Conference (Pavia, Italy, 23-26 June 2025)
Workshop Date: June 26th, 2025
We invite submissions to the TruGen25 workshop, focusing on the critical need for trustworthy and effective Generative AI (GenAI) virtual assistants in healthcare. This full-day workshop aims to explore the design and implementation of GenAI assistants that enhance healthcare outcomes by prioritizing human-centered design principles and explainability (XAI).
The workshop provides a platform to analyze challenges and opportunities, apply human-centered design, delve into XAI techniques, brainstorm use cases, build connections, and initiate project ideas. We seek to foster collaboration among researchers and practitioners to develop responsible and effective GenAI solutions for healthcare.
Workshop Topics:
We welcome contributions related to human-centered, explainable GenAI virtual assistants in healthcare, including but not limited to:
- Foundations of GenAI in Healthcare: Potential of GenAI models (LLMs, diffusion models, etc.), successes, limitations, and future trends.
- Human-Centered Design for Healthcare AI: Principles, user needs assessment, stakeholder engagement, participatory design, usability, and iterative processes.
- Explainable AI (XAI) for Trustworthy GenAI: Transparency, accountability, XAI techniques, evaluation metrics, and strategies for understandability.
- Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications (ELSI): Data privacy, bias mitigation (gender, racial, socioeconomic), fairness, responsibility, and the regulatory landscape.
- Technical Challenges and Solutions: Data requirements, multimodal data handling, model robustness and reliability, mitigating hallucinations, and computational resource management.
Submission Guidelines:
- Requirement: Active participation requires the submission of a short paper detailing research, use case proposals, challenges, methodological approaches, or relevant tools.
- Length: 5-9 pages.
- Format: Papers must follow the CEURART template.
- Submission Platform: https://easychair.org/conferences?conf=trugen25
- Publication: Accepted papers will be published as free open access proceedings via CEUR-WS.org (https://ceur-ws.org/). Accepted papers will also be made openly available on the workshop webpage before the event.
Important Dates:
- Paper Submission Deadline: May 15th, 2025
- Notification of Acceptance: May 28th, 2025
- Workshop Date: June 26th, 2025
Target Audience:
This workshop welcomes a multidisciplinary audience, including AI/ML researchers, healthcare professionals, HCI researchers/practitioners, data scientists, industry professionals, ethicists, policymakers, and graduate students interested in trustworthy, explainable, and human-centered AI systems for healthcare.
For any questions about the workshop, please do not hesitate to reach out to the chairs.
We look forward to your contributions!
