The 9th International Conference on Systems Engineering (CIIS 2026) is an international academic and professional forum that addresses topics related to data science and artificial intelligence. Researchers, professionals, and students are invited to submit original research papers that contribute to the advancement of computer science, systems engineering, information technology, and related fields.
All accepted papers presented during the conference will be published in Open Access at the ACM Digital Library, following the new publishing model of ACM’s International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS).
Manuscript Review Process
1. Ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of the peer review process
CIIS 2026 strictly adheres to the publication ethics guidelines and best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Any form of misconduct, including plagiarism or the improper use of third-party sources, will result in the immediate rejection of the manuscript. All individuals involved in the review process must declare any conflicts of interest and maintain the confidentiality of the manuscripts under evaluation. Under no circumstances may manuscripts or their content be shared outside the peer review process.
2. Similarity report assessment
The Program Committee will assess the similarity report to verify compliance with copyright regulations, ethical standards, and the alignment of the manuscript with the conference scope and main topics. Manuscripts showing excessive similarity, inappropriate use of sources, or a lack of fit with the conference themes will be rejected.
3. Assignment of manuscripts for review
Once cleared for review, the manuscript will be assigned to members of the Program Committee or to external reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. Each submission will undergo a double-blind peer review and will be independently evaluated by two reviewers, who will provide detailed comments and recommend one of the following decisions:
-
Accepted without changes or with minor revisions.
-
Conditionally accepted, requiring major revisions based on reviewers’ comments. The revised manuscript must undergo a second review for final approval.
-
Rejected due to limited contributions or other concerns raised by the reviewers.
4. Final decision
The final decision regarding manuscript acceptance will be made by the Program Chairs and the Conference Chairs in order to ensure fairness and academic quality.

Publication and Indexing of Articles
Accepted papers will be considered for one of the following presentation formats: oral presentation or poster presentation. The format will be determined by the Conference Review Committee, taking into account the recommendations made by the reviewers.
Accepted Papers for the ACM International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS)
Papers accepted for oral presentation will be published by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in the International Conference Proceedings Series (ICPS) and will appear in the ACM Digital Library, in addition to being disseminated through multiple indexing services. Under ACM’s new publishing model, the papers will be published as open access and submitted for consideration in Scopus.
All authors will receive an email from ACM with instructions and a link to the eRights system to complete the copyright transfer and the corresponding payments, which include conference registration. For a paper to be included in the proceedings, at least one author must complete this process. Once the ACM registration process has been completed, authors must send an email to the organizers at ciis@ulima.edu.pe to confirm their registration.
Accepted Papers for the Special Issue of the Journal Interfases
Papers accepted in the poster category will be published in the special issue of Interfases (ISSN 1993-4912), a digital journal edited by the Systems Engineering Program at the University of Lima. Interfases is indexed in Redalyc, CrossRef, Dialnet, Latindex, and DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals).
All authors will receive an email from the editor with the publication instructions.
Instructions for Authors
The conference only accepts papers written in English. Authors must use the official paper templates (available in Word and LaTex) to prepare their submissions.
The conference LaTex template on the Overleaf platform is available to all authors here.
Papers must be 6 to 8 pages in length (double-column format) in ACM style, including the main text and references, and must be submitted in PDF format.
Submissions must preserve author anonymity; therefore, all identifying information must be removed from both the manuscript and its metadata to ensure a double-blind review process.
Submissions must be original, innovative, and unpublished. In addition, they must not be under review simultaneously by other journals or academic conferences.
Accepted papers will be assigned to one of the following presentation formats: oral presentation or poster presentation. Papers selected for oral presentation will be included in the conference proceedings and submitted for consideration to prestigious publishers such as ACM or Springer, with the aim of being indexed in high-impact scientific databases. Papers accepted for poster presentation must be presented during the conference and will be published in a special issue of Interfases, a biannual journal with an ISSN, indexed in Latindex, Dialnet, Redalyc, DOAJ, and LatinREV. To do so, the poster must be prepared using this template. The final version of an accepted paper must include the names, affiliations, and email addresses of the authors, and must incorporate all revisions recommended by the Review Committee. The revised manuscript must be submitted in two formats: Word or LaTex and PDF. No changes to the list of authors or to the references will be permitted.
At least one author of each accepted paper must register for the conference in order to present and discuss the contribution in accordance with the guidelines established by the CIIS 2026 Organizing Committee. Presentations may be delivered in English or Spanish. Papers not presented at the conference will not be included in the proceedings, even if they were accepted for publication.
