With the theme “Leveraging AI for Change in Education”, the 2nd EdUHK x HKUST Joint International Conference on AI and Education (AIEdu2025) is an annual joint-university initiative between The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) and The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) aimed at exploring the profound impacts and possibilities of artificial intelligence in educational settings, from K-12 and higher education to vocational training and adult learning. As AI technologies continue to advance at an unprecedented rate, it’s crucial for educational approaches and research to keep pace. This means not only integrating AI into current pedagogical frameworks but also evolving our research methodologies to understand and leverage AI’s impact on learning outcomes, assessment tools, curriculum development, and students’ well-being. This conference aims to facilitate interdisciplinary discussions by uniting educators, researchers, policymakers, and technologists to explore key strands as follows:
- Challenges and Opportunities of AI in Higher Education and Vocational Training
- AI-Enhanced K-12 Education: Challenges and Potential
- Learning Outcomes and AI-Driven Assessments
- Innovating Curriculum and Pedagogy through AI
- Societal and ethical issues in AI-empowered Education
Understanding the symbiotic relationship between AI and humans and how that impacts teaching and learning is not just an academic exercise; it’s a necessity that has direct implications for the future of work, education, and societal well-being. As we navigate the complexities of the AI era, this conference aims to foster a community committed to exploring and sharing evidence-based, ethically sound, and accessible AI-driven educational strategies. Our goal is to help attendees become informed about the dynamic implications AI will have on education so they can adapt to changing educational needs. To support this, we’ve invited international experts in AI and education who will share evidence-based strategies and insights, enriching the conference’s scope and enhancing its relevance to global educational trends. We invite you to join us in this important dialogue to shape the future of education in an AI-driven world.
The AIEdu2025 will comprise keynote speeches by internationally renowned scholars, panels, industry demo sessions, paper presentation sessions, workshops, and doctoral student consortium.
The Call for Papers is now open.
