ICODSIP 2024 is the 1st International COnference on digital skills and IT professionalism (ICODSIP), co-organized by CEPIS and ATI and hosted by Escuela Politécnica Superior, University of Alcalá. It is aimed at providing a home for those working in the research, analysis, study, promotion and education in two intertwined aspects of the qualification and training of citizens and labor force (in IT and in non-IT occupations) for the best use and exploitation of the digital solutions and the information technology: IT professionalism and competence and digital skills.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Full papers completely describing research and innovation in any of the topics of the two tracks.
- Tiny paper summarising practical innovative experiences or contributions, preferably supported with empirical data and analysis.

Track 1. E-competences and IT professionalism. Track topics include (but are not limited to):
- Skills and competence frameworks and classifications in practice (e.g. EN16234, ESCO, etc.).
- Experiences in linking qualification, certification and assessment to competence frameworks.
- VET and Higher Education linked to IT professional career development and employability.
- Practical learning or development experiences of e-competences based on empirical data of assessment.
- Link of digital skills and competences to occupations and professional roles.
- Female talent in IT profession.
- Analysis of demand and supply of IT professionals and their competences in job market.
- Integration of IT professionalism competences and frameworks in education and training.
- Application of frameworks and classifications in organisational contexts (e.g. EN16234, ESCO, etc.): career development, catalogue of IT talent, recruitment, etc.
- Track 2. Digital competence and skills. Track topics include (but are not limited to):
- Skills and competence frameworks in practice (e.g. DigComp, etc.).
- Certifications like ICDL or others: benefits, application in practice, etc.
- Practical learning or development experiences of digital skills and competence based on empirical data of assessment.
- Link of digital skills and competence to occupations and professional roles, especially non IT ones and hybrid jobs.
- Analysis of demand of digital skills in job market.
- Integration of digital skills and competences in education and training.
- Assessment of digital skills for everybody.
- Assessment of digital skills at large scale (countries, regions, sectors, etc.).
- Prediction of future needs and the role of technical buzzwords.
- Self-perception, self-assessment and reality of digital skills: comparative studies.
- The role of myths and media in digital skills: digital natives, tech gurus, etc.
- Digital skills vs social, cultural or economic context.

Publication
Accepted papers will be published with embargo of 6 months, subject to meeting format and quality requirements, in the Zenodo community for ICODSIP, each one with DOI and it is integrated into reporting lines for research funded by the European Commission via OpenAIRE .
Full papers accepted for Track 1. E-competences and IT professionalism will be invited to submit an extended version (at least, 30% of new material) for consideration of publication at International Journal of Human Capital and Information Technology Professionals (Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) Q4 and SJR H-Index 13 and Q3 in Computer Science).
Full papers accepted for Track 2. Digital competence and skills will be invited to submit an extended version (at least, 30% of new material) for consideration of publication at an International Journal indexed in SJR Index.
Venue
The conference will be hosted by Universidad de Alcalá (UAH), Spain, on 14th and 15th November 2024.
